At the meeting, the PAN's Deputy Editor-in-Chief Senior Colonel Nguyen Hong Hai expressed delight at welcoming the Lao delegation and wished them a successful visit. He emphasized that the visit will contribute to reinforcing the special solidarity and attachment between Vietnam and Laos.
During the working session, Col. Hai briefed delegates on the PAN's 70-year construction and development. As an organ of the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense, the voice of the armed forces and the Vietnamese people, the PAN is a prestigious political newspaper of Vietnam's revolutionary press, with a mission to disseminate information about the country's two strategic tasks of building and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The PAN has received significant attention and trust from Party, State, and military leaders and has a strong influence on the military and society, playing an active role in the resistance wars for national liberation and protection and the current cause of the Fatherland construction and defense.

Following the open foreign policy of the Vietnamese Party and State, the PAN has well disseminated information about the world situation, especially about Laos, its people, and the country’s notable achievements, and the special Vietnam-Laos relationship.
Speaking at the event, Olam Chanthavilay thanked the PAN for its warm reception and for facilitating the Lao press delegation with professional journalism practices. He noted that this visit would further strengthen solidarity, mutual understanding, and professional exchange between the press sectors of the two countries and serve as a foundation for proposing methods to promote press cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in the coming years.

In the time to come, the head of the Lao delegation suggested the PAN and Lao press agencies continue collaboration in training, information sharing, and professional exchange to further enhance the press's role in fostering the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
