Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force’s mission visits Vietnam
PANO – Two aircraft of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force landed in Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Vietnam), starting their friendly visit to the Vietnam People’s Navy on January 28 in Ho Chi Minh City.
The mission includes 36 officers and crewmembers, led by Lieutenant Colonel Kurishita Akihico, Commander of Squadron 21.
After a reception at the Tan Son Nhat Airport, the mission paid a courtesy to the chain-of-command of Brigade 125 of Naval Region 2.

The visit aimed to strengthen defense friendship exchange between two countries’ naval forces as well as consolidate the relationship between the two militaries and two navies.
As scheduled, the mission of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force leaves Vietnam for Japan on January 29.
