General Staff’s leader receives Cuban guest
PANO - Senior Lieutenant General Pham Ngoc Minh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, hosted a reception at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense on April 18 for Mr. Antonio Guerrero Rodríguez, a Cuban hero and Vice President of the Superior Organization for Entrepreneurial Management (OSDE) of Construction Design and Engineering, who is on a working visit to Vietnam.
At the meeting, General Minh underscored that Vietnamese people always bear in their minds the great spiritual and material support from the Cuban Party, State and people for them during the struggle for national salvation, especially during the hardest time of the struggle.
The host and guest expressed their pleasure at the development in all aspects of the exemplary brotherhood, time-honored friendship, comprehensive cooperation, solidarity and faithfulness between the two Parties, States and peoples, which were nurtured by Cuban President Fidel Castro and his Vietnamese counterpart Ho Chi Minh.
Acknowledging that this year will see celebration of the 45th anniversary of Cuban Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castrol’s first visit to Vietnam (September 1973) when he set foot on the newly-liberated Central province of Quang Tri, both sides agreed on the further dissemination of and publicizing about the special ties between the two countries among their peoples, especially to younger generations over the year.
