Free health check-ups and medicines provided to border residents of Vietnam - Laos
PANO – On December 5 and 6, the military medical forces of Vietnam and Laos collaborated to organize free health check-ups and medicine distribution to residents in the border areas of Sanxay district (Attapeu province, Laos) and Ngoc Hoi district (Kon Tum province, Vietnam). This initiative was part of the first-ever Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia Border Defense Friendship Exchange.
During the visit to Sanxay district on December 5, Lieutenant General Vanthong Bouttavong, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Lao People's Army, praised the thorough preparation made by the military medical forces of both countries. He expressed confidence that the close coordination between the two sides would ensure the success of the healthcare activities for the local residents.

On behalf of the Vietnamese delegation, Senior Colonel Le Van Dong, Deputy Head of the Department of Military Medicine under the General Department of Logistical Affairs, highlighted that the joint medical examination and treatment program between the two countries' military forces was operated under the spirit of solidarity, cooperation, friendship, and mutual development. More than 70 medical officers and staff with expertise and extensive experience from Hospital 87, under the General Department of Logistical Affairs, traveled a long distance to collaborate with the Laotian military medical forces in providing free health check-ups and medicine to people in the border areas.

Senior Colonel Le Van Dong expressed confidence that this collaborative effort in organizing free medical check-ups, treatment, and medicine distribution for the border residents would contribute to strengthening and nurturing the solidarity and bonds between the militaries and people of both countries in general and their medical forces in particular.
