Present at the event were Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Vietnamese Deputy Defense Minister, General Neang Phat, Minister of State of the Cambodian Defense Ministry, and other leaders from military units of Vietnam and Cambodia.

The program included two talk shows between leaders of border guard forces and authorities along the shared border of the two countries.

Accordingly, over the past time, the two sides have actively and proactively expanded their coordination in border and border gate protection as well as the continued promotion of socio-economic development in shared-border localities.

In particular, they boosted the twinning model between Vietnamese and Cambodian residential areas along the shared border, jointly held artistic and sport exchanges, supported each other to develop the socio-economy, and provided assistance for disadvantaged children. These activities have contributed to building a borderline of peace, friendship, cooperation, and development.

An artistic performance at the event

During the exchange, audiences enjoyed special artistic performances by Vietnamese and Cambodian art troupes featuring the Vietnam-Cambodia’s traditional friendship and time-honored solidarity.

Besides, several documentaries were screened at the exchange highlighting the bilateral sound neighborhood, cooperation between the two peoples, border guard forces and military forces of Vietnam and Cambodia.

Also at the event, the Vietnam Border Guard High Command handed over scholarships to 30 students and breeding cattle to 60 needy families along border areas in Vietnam’s An Giang province and Cambodia’s Takeo and Kandal provinces.
