At the event held at the headquarters of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense (MND), General Chien confirmed that the relationship and cooperation between Vietnam and Israel have constantly developed in different fields, including bilateral defense ties. He also stressed that the Vietnamese MND always attaches importance to the defense cooperation with Israel.
According to the Vietnamese deputy defense chief, on the basis of the memorandum of understanding on bilateral defense cooperation signed in 2015, the defense ties between the two countries have enjoyed new development steps, especially in exchange of delegations, maintenance of cooperation mechanisms, dialogues, defense industry, search and rescue, settlement of war legacy, to name but a few.
The host also talked about the second Vietnam-Israel Defense Policy Dialogue held in the previous month in Hanoi during which the two sides defined specific cooperation orientations and contents so as to bolster the bilateral defense ties in the coming time.
Speaking highly of the great contribution of the outgoing Israeli defense attaché over the past time, General Chien hoped that with her understanding about Vietnam and experience gained during her working term in the country, she, in her new post, would continue to have good feelings about the people and people’s army of Vietnam and make active contribution to developing the relations between the two countries and two militaries.
Noting that the Vietnamese MND will host the first-ever Vietnam International Defense Expo this December, General Chien expressed his hope that the Israeli Ministry of Defense will send delegation to participate in and prestigious defense industry enterprises to introduce their products at the expo, contributing to the general success of the event.

For her part, Ms. Bloria Hamama thanked the Vietnamese MND and other local authorized agencies for their support during her tenure. She underlined that amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the bilateral defense cooperation contents were well maintained and enhanced.
She affirmed that in any positions, she will actively contribute to and support the further development of the defense relations between Vietnam and Israel.
