Defense ministry hosts banquet for Cuban military officers
PANO – The Ministry of National Defense hosted a banquet on December 6 to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the establishment of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces (December 2, 1956).
Senior Lieutenant General Pham Ngoc Minh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, attended and delivered a speech at the event.

Speaking at the banquet, Senior Colonel Juan Miguel Garcia Montano, Cuban military attaché to Vietnam said that the main task of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces was to protect national sovereignty and train forces for combat readiness. He also stressed that the relationship between the Vietnamese People's Army and the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces is growing strongly.
On behalf of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Ngoc Minh held that the leadership of the Vietnamese Party, State, Government and Defense Ministry always pay much attention to foster the relationship between the Vietnam People’s Army and the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces, contributing to cementing the special traditional friendship between the two countries.

General Minh also stressed that the Vietnamese people and military would always stand side by side with the Cuban people and armed forces in the process of building peace, protecting national independence and developing socialism.
