Defense leader receives President of Japan's National Defense Academy

At the reception, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam acknowledged the continuous development and significant progress in Vietnam-Japan defense cooperation in recent years. He emphasized that educational cooperation and human resource training is a highlight in the relationship between the two nations. He further expressed that human resource training in the defense sector is also a priority of both countries' defense ministries.

The Deputy Defense Minister also extended his gratitude to the Japanese Ministry of Defense for annually offering scholarships to personnel of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense at Japan's National Defense Academy. He noted that the Vietnamese students, upon returning home, have applied their acquired knowledge effectively, fulfilling their assigned duties and acting as a bridge to further strengthen Vietnam-Japan relations.

For his part, Mr. Kubo Fumiaki underscored the crucial role of educational cooperation and human resource training in the overall comprehensive strategic partnership between Japan and Vietnam. He praised the success of the defense-related human resource training cooperation and expressed hope that both defense ministries would continue to advance this area.

Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam highlighted Vietnam's significant demand for undergraduate- and postgraduate-level human resource training, particularly in high-tech fields. He asked Mr. Kubo Fumiaki to help advance this cooperation. The Vietnamese defense leader also affirmed that the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense fully supports and facilitates interactions between the defense academies of both nations, promoting educational cooperation in the time to come.
