This visit aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Japan's ODA grants provided to the Vietnam Coast Guard. The findings will serve as a basis for promoting effective cooperation between the Vietnam Coast Guard and Japanese partners in the future.

During the meeting, Major General Tran Van Tho expressed his confidence that, with his role and position, Mr. Nakanishi Yusuke and the House of Councilors of Japan will continue to foster cooperation between the two countries in the Coast Guard sector. This includes the successful implementation of projects, non-project activities, and cooperative efforts to enhance the law enforcement capabilities of the Vietnam Coast Guard, particularly Coast Guard Region 1, contributing to building a stable, secure, and safe maritime region.

On behalf of the Japanese House of Councilors, Mr. Nakanishi Yusuke thanked the Coast Guard Region 1 Command for the warm reception. He noted that the survey results from this visit to Coast Guard Region 1 would assist the Japanese House of Councilors in formulating appropriate strategies for aiding Southeast Asian countries in general and Vietnam in particular. This effort will help improve maritime law enforcement capabilities and ensure security for the nations involved.

Following the meeting, the Japanese House of Councilors’ delegation visited the engine room of Vessel 6002 of Flotilla 111, Squadron 11, under the Coast Guard Region 1 Command.
