Defense leader receives Chinese defense attaché

At the meeting, Gen. Chien conveyed congratulations to generals, officers, and soldiers of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) on the 96th founding anniversary of the force (August 1, 1927 - 2023). He affirmed that the Party, Government, and Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam always pay due attention to the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China, in which bilateral defense cooperation is one of the important pillars.

The host and guest discussed the delegation exchange activities between the two militaries to be held in the time ahead, including the eighth Vietnam - China Border Defense Friendship Exchange, the third Vietnam - China Young Coast Guard Officers Exchange, and the Vietnam visit of the delegation of the Deputy Commander of the Southern Theater Command under the Chinese PLA.

Given the importance of the aforementioned eighth exchange, slated for this September, Gen. Chien suggested the Chinese Defense Attaché Office continue its close coordination with relevant agencies and units under the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense (MND) to make thorough preparations in all aspects for the exchange to ensure it a success.

For his part, Col. Pan thanked the Vietnamese MND for its support and cooperation in carrying out exchanges and cooperation activities between the two militaries over the past time, especially the preparations for the eighth edition.
