The mission toured some places to host the exchange’s activities, such as Lao Cai International Border Gate; the area in Ban Phiet village, Ban Phiet commune, Bao Thang district, where the Vietnam - China Friendship Cultural House will be built; Kim Dong Primary School; Kim Thanh International Road Border Gate No.2; Lao Cai provincial Convention Center, among others.

At the meeting held after the inspection, Gen. Chien underlined that the eighth edition is scheduled to take place in early September in the Vietnamese province of Lao Cai and Chinese province of Yunnan. There remains more than one month to the event; therefore, the deputy defense minister asked relevant agencies and units to continue promoting sense of responsibility, closely coordinating with each other, and speeding up the preparatory work.

Gen. Chien also noted the information dissemination work, assurance of medicine, security, and absolute safety of participants and vehicles.

Also at the event, Gen. Chien highlighted the important significance of the exchange towards the enhancement of the friendship and cooperation between the two militaries, the two sides’ border protection forces, authorities, and people living along the Vietnam - China shared borderline. He requested the Vietnamese side to work with the Chinese counterpart to specify the exchange’s contents and agenda, and make thorough preparation for the eighth edition.
