At the meeting, the Vietnamese general expressed thanks and highly appreciated the guests’ defense ministries and militaries for supporting Vietnam in hosting the expo and their countries’ groups, enterprises, defense industry facilities to display their products and take part in sidelines activities. He emphasized that their presence was precious and decisive to the success of the expo.
Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong said that the expo is taking place in the context that the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and other countries have developed fruitfully. This first-ever expo hosted by Vietnam holds important meaning, contributing to promoting international integration, strengthening defense diplomacy, and developing the cooperation between Vietnam and other countries. He hoped that after this expo, foreign military leaders would continue to pay attention, direct and create more favorable conditions for functional agencies, defense industry enterprises to develop their cooperation with Vietnamese counterparts in a more comprehensive and effective manner in accordance with the framework of defense relations between Vietnam and each country.
The host also emphasized Vietnam’s policy of developing a modern, dual-use defense industry to serve national defense, Fatherland protection and people's needs. Thus, in its development strategy and international integration, Vietnam always attaches importance to promoting cooperation with other countries.
The Vietnamese defense chief noted that Vietnamese enterprises participating in the expo are dynamic, ready for international integration and willing to exchange initiatives and proposals from international defense industry enterprises to devise potential cooperation plans.
He affirmed that Vietnam wishes to strengthen defense ties with other countries with the aim of enhancing friendship, cooperation, and development for peace and stability of each country, the region, and the world. Vietnam pledges to improve and create the best favorable conditions for foreign defense enterprises to invest and cooperate effectively in Vietnam.
For their part, leaders of foreign militaries expressed their impressions on the opening ceremony of the expo and believed that the success of the expo would help boost trust and cooperation among countries, for regional peace and stability.
They spoke highly of the expo which attracts a large number of international defense groups and enterprises whose wish is to promote cooperation with their counterparts in the region and the world.
