During an interview with reporters of the People’s Army Newspaper, Colonel Phan Tien Tho, GAET General Director, underlined that the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2022 offers GAET an opportunity to affirm its role as a reliable partner at home and in the international community.
Answering the question about the participation of GAET in the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2022, Colonel Tho shared that GAET is proud to be one of the leading units performing missions assigned by the Ministry of National Defense at the expo.

The Vietnam International Defense Expo 2022 is slated for December 8-10 in Hanoi. This is the first time the Ministry of National Defense hosts the event.
Along with coordinating with other units to implement the expo’s activities, GAET will open a booth for domestic and international customers to boost trade promotion. The booth is placed at the center area featuring GAET’s typical products.
In detail, GAET will showcase models of military weapons and technical equipment, including sail training ships, missiles and aircraft. The booth contributes to highlighting GAET’s advisory role in purchasing weapons and technical equipment for the military’s training work, combat readiness, and manufacturing of defense industry products; transferring technology, upgrading weapons and technical equipment; as well as exporting made-in-Vietnam defense industry products.
Additionally, the corporation will use the 4.0 control system for headquarters to introduce its integration capability.
Regarding the question about GAET’s assigned functions and tasks at the expo, Colonel Tho said GAET has actively sought potential exhibitors to sign booth rental contracts, ink contracts with sponsors and enterprises at home and abroad, support foreign partners in carrying out procedures for temporary import and re-export, transportation, storage, and preservation of exhibits before, during and after the expo. Meanwhile, the corporation will provide services to meet the needs of construction units and exhibitors.

The corporation has exerted utmost efforts to complete all assigned missions as planned. As a result, the expo is expected to draw the attendance of 174 units from 30 countries in the world and has attracted five sponsors. Also, GAET has coordinated with functional agencies of the Ministry of National Defense to solve procedures for temporary import and re-export for over 30 partners, with a total volume of goods up to nearly 10 tons.
Talking about the meaning of GAET’s products on display at the expo, Colonel Tho emphasized that GAET has defined its role and responsibility in performing political tasks, particularly the import and export of military equipment, military trade promotion, and popularization of defense industry products to international market.
In preparation for the upcoming Vietnam International Defense Expo 2022, the corporation has carefully selected models and products showing its function and capabilities in providing supplies and equipment to modernize the military and serve defense production and national economic development.
As one of the military enterprises taking the lead in manufacturing and business activities in international integration, GAET has been strongly accelerating integration and enhanced cooperation with hundreds of partners from more than 50 countries all over the world, Col. Tho added.
Without doubt, in any field, GAET always builds up its trust and prestige in all business relationships. The corporation has increasingly affirmed its position in the market, contributing to the construction of Vietnam’s defense industry and national economic development.
