Attending the ceremony were Second-in-Command of Military Region 2 Major General Nguyen Anh Ngoc and Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Lao People’s Army Lieutenant General Syphonesay Khamethongvon.

The project, with Military Region 2 as the investor, was implemented during the 2022–2025 period, combining new construction with renovation and upgrading. The project included the construction of three transport works with a total length of 51.8 km; five domestic water supply systems; five school facilities; one medical station; five office buildings and village cultural houses; one border guard barracks; one 22 kV medium-voltage power line; one agricultural extension center; and one livestock development project.

After four years of overcoming terrain and weather challenges, the project has been completed, meeting all technical standards for handover. At the ceremony, Major General Nguyen Anh Ngoc called the project a symbol of Vietnam-Laos friendship, noting its significance for socio-economic development, defense, and security.

On January 29-30, a Military Region 4 delegation led by Major General Le Van Trung visited Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam and the Defense Attaché Office in Laos to extend Tet greetings. Major General Trung reported on the unit's recent military and diplomatic achievements while thanking the Embassy and Attaché Office for supporting their operations in Laos.

Ambassador Tam acknowledged and spoke highly of the active and practical contributions of Military Region 4 in implementing cooperation activities and defense-economic projects in Laos. He affirmed that these activities have made important contributions to consolidating and strengthening Vietnam - Laos relations.

The delegation visited Military Region 4’s affiliates and reviewed their production, business activities, political task performance, and support for Lao people in economic development and livelihood stabilization. It also presented gifts and extended Tet greetings to officers and employees performing duties far from the homeland.
