Brigade 167 conducts joint training with Indian naval ships
PANO – Ship 379 of Brigade 167 of Naval Region 2 participated in a joint training with ships INS Shivalik and INS Kamorta of the Indian Navy on December 3. Commander Nguyen Duc Thien, Second-in-Command of Brigade 167, directed the training.
Earlier, from November 30 to December 2, the Indian ships docked in Ho Chi Minh City. The Naval Region 2 Command held a welcoming ceremony for the delegation and volleyball exchanges with officers and sailors of the Indian Navy ships within the framework of their friendship visit to the Southern hub.
Brigade 167 sent a delegation to visit the Indian Navy ships and agreed on a joint training plan between the two sides.
During the training, participating ships moved in formation, saluted each other at sea, exchanged information, practiced international signals, and exercised contents of the Code for Unplanned Encounters at Sea (CUES).
According to Commander Nguyen Duc Thien, through joint training activities, the two sides exchanged experience to improve naval troops’ capability of moving in formation, using CUES, and conducting search and rescue.
Despite unfavorable weather conditions and rough sea, the joint training concluded successfully thanks to the thorough preparation and close coordination, contributing to strengthening the cooperative relationship and mutual understanding and trust between the two militaries in general and the two navies in particular.
Below are photos of activities within the joint training between the two navies.
