Vietnam’s preparation for ACDFM-17 and relevant meetings
PANO – The Department of Foreign Relations under the Ministry of National Defense held a briefing on September 3 to inform ASEAN military attachés in Vietnam about the 17th ASEAN Chiefs of Defense Forces’ Meeting (ACDFM-17) and relevant meetings, including the 17th ASEAN Military Intelligence Meeting (AMIM) and the 10th ASEAN Military Operations Meeting (AMOM).
The event was chaired by Senior Colonel Pham Manh Thang, Deputy Head of the Department of Foreign Relations.
Under the theme of “Defense Cooperation for a Cohesive and Responsive ASEAN”, the ACDFM-17 is scheduled to take place on September 24 to exchange views on regional security issues of mutual concern and to discuss measures to strengthen practical cooperation, internal solidarity, and collective response to common threats.
Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Defense Minister will chair the meeting.
At the briefing, representatives of the Department of Foreign Relations briefed participants on the preparation, content and the agenda of ACDFM-17 and relevant meetings and shared meaningful information to ensure the events are successful.
