In his remark, Lieutenant General Melvyn Ong, Chief of the Singaporean Defense Forces underlined the importance of coordination among navies of ADMM+ member countries in dealing with maritime security challenges. This time’s exercise demonstrated their further commitments to joining efforts in tackling maritime security challenges.

Hailing the efforts and professional expertise of the participating naval forces, General Ong emphasized that the exercise served as a practical cooperation mechanism to expand their mutual understanding and trust, contributing to maintaining peace and stability in the regional seas and for benefits of all relevant parties.

The event, starting in the Republic of Korea on April 29 and concluding in Singapore on May 12 with the participation of naval forces from 18 countries, was seen as a success.

Frigate 016 - Quang Trung of the Vietnam People’s Navy (VPN) successfully fulfilled all contents, helping Vietnamese sailors and officers hone their mastery of assigned weapons and equipment. With the participation in this event, the VPN could learn more experience in hosting international naval events in 2020 when Vietnam takes over the Chair of ASEAN.

PANO would like to introduce several photos of the activities of the VPN delegation at Changi Naval Base, Singapore, after completing the exercise.
