Activities in celebration of Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia Solidarity and Friendship Year to be held
PANO – Various activities of military youths within the framework of the Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia Solidarity and Friendship Year 2017 will be held to mark 55 years of the establishment of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic relations, 40 years of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation and 50 years of the establishment of Vietnam-Cambodia diplomatic relations.

Speaking at a press conference held on July 12, Senior Colonel Dinh Quoc Hung, Head of the Military Youth under the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army, said that the general department and relevant agencies have organized many meaningful activities such as promoting information dissemination on tradition of Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia relations as well as exchanging experiences in youth movements between Vietnamese young officers and youths of the Lao People's Army and the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces.
Accordingly, military youths and the relevant units will organize a candle-lit ceremony on July 15 at the Vietnam-Laos international martyrs' cemetery in Anh Son district, Nghe An province, and Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia military youths’ gala evenings in Dien Bien province and in Ho Chi Minh City.
The activities will contribute to strengthening the mutual understanding of military youths between the three countries, then heightening their responsibility for preserving and expanding friendly relations for prosperity and development of each country. In addition, this is also seen as an occasion to promote the image of Vietnam to people in Laos and Cambodia.
