150 domestic and foreign businesses will take part in the Vietnam International Furniture and Home Accessories Fair 2011 (VIFA 2011), scheduled to take place from March 11th to 14th, in Ho Chi Minh City.

This event, jointly organised by the Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of HCM City (HAWA) and Hawa Corporation, will display various timber products and modern technologies at 650 pavilions.

10% of the participants come from foreign countries including China, the Czech Republic and Singapore, all of which are major markets for Vietnamese timber products.

Later this month, the first Forestry Festival will be also held from March 26th to 29th, in Quy Nhon City in the south-central Binh Dinh Province, to promote timber products and improve the investment cooperation between local and foreign businesses.

Last year Vietnam earned VND3.4 billion from exporting timber products, and the figure is expected to increase to USD4 billion this year, and USD9 billion by 2025.
