The Nissan Vietnam Auto Co.,Ltd. has announced that it will launch its first car model assembled in Vietnam in early 2010.
The Hoa Binh Automobile Joint Venture (VMC) will assemble the cars, but Japan’s Nissan will undertake quality control, and Nissan Vietnam Co. Ltd will be the distributor.
In 2007, Nissan sold only 518 units in Vietnam, and this figure went down to 164 in 2008 due to an increase in the import tax.
Nissan Vietnam Co. Ltd is a joint venture between Japan’s Nissan Motor Co. Ltd and Denmark-based Kjaer Group A/S.
