PANO - The US Secretary of State’s prestigious 2012 Award for Corporate Excellence (ACE) selected Intel Vietnam as one of eleven finalists.

The selection recognizes Intel Vietnam’s efforts in environmental protection through the generation of electricity through solar power; participation in transformative educational programs focusing on faculty and curriculum development, including through sending local educators for university training in the United States; and providing scholarships to disadvantaged children, youth and women.

“We are proud of the work American companies such as Intel have done in Vietnam. We seek to be global leaders in corporate social responsibility, and I would like to personally praise Intel’s contributions to the development of both Vietnam’s economy and its society,” US Ambassador to Vietnam David Shear congratulated Intel on their selection.

ACE selected Intel and ten other American companies from 82 nominations submitted by US ambassadors around the world.

The Secretary of State has awarded the ACE since 1999 to recognize American companies that are leaders in socially responsible activities and contribute to the overall growth and development of the local economy in which they work.

The 2012 ACE winners will be announced at the annual ceremony hosted by the Secretary of State on November 28th, 2012.
