Viettel truly masters military communication technology

A special guest, Mr. Andrzej Kapeluszny - an experienced expert in communication technology from Poland, came to visit Viettel's booth at MSPO 2023. Meeting with young Viettel representatives, Mr. Andrzej Kapeluszny listened to their introduction of military products and later remarked, "When I was young, I participated in building the first crucial communication station for Military Region 5 in Vietnam." A resounding "wow!" echoed from the Viettel team members upon hearing this interesting detail.

Mr. Andrzej Kapeluszny shared that, at the age of 25, while working for the Polish Ministry of Information and Communications, he received the mission to assist Vietnam in building communication stations during its national struggle for liberation and reunification.

Mr. Andrzej Kapeluszny is currently 86 years old. He traveled 173km from Warsaw to Kielce to attend the MSPO 2023. Mr. Andrzej Kapeluszny was profoundly surprised to learn that a Vietnamese company, Viettel, has successfully developed a variety of military communication devices. As someone who had contributed to the construction of one of Vietnam's first communication stations, he shared his heartfelt joy, stating, "I am delighted that Viettel has independently researched and developed military communication machines. You have truly mastered the technology." He further expressed, "Seeing young engineers from Vietnam, I feel like I'm reliving my youth, with the same passion, dedication, and research eagerness I had back then."

Finding solutions through Viettel's products

PGZ, the Poland's largest defense industry corporation, has been continuously searching for handheld communication devices without success. However, during their visit to Viettel at MSPO 2023, they found the answer to their quest.

Meanwhile, Mr. Tomasz Wieckowski, Deputy Director of Business Development at PGZ, and Mr. Robert Tomasik, Business Director at Transbit (a company specializing in military communication equipment manufacturing), who had shown interest in Viettel's communication devices at the Vietnam Defence Expo 2022, visited Viettel's booth at MSPO 2023 to further explore possibilities.

Mr. Tomasz Wieckowski highly praised Viettel's products, which operate on the SDR platform and can be easily customized. PGZ currently lacks similar products, and Mr. Tomasz Wieckowski was excited to discover that VHT's products meet PGZ's technical specifications, features, and weight requirements. PGZ and Transbit have jointly proposed cooperative scenarios with VHT to make further strides in the future.

WB Group currently has 30 projects related to communication equipment. Its Director of Marketing and Products, Mr. Tomasz Onak, visited Viettel's booth and discussed the possibility of collaborating with the Vietnamese group to produce handheld communication devices. WB Group inquired about the export capabilities and annual production capacity. During an hour-long discussion with Viettel's representative, Mr. Ing. Boleslav Zahradnik, Director of Product at the JISR, a long-standing technology research institute in the Czech Republic, expressed his desire to collaborate on research with Viettel to develop new products. The technical exchange between Mr. Ing. Boleslav Zahradnik and Viettel engineers focused on communication and electronic warfare, was highly engaging. Mr. Ing. Boleslav Zahradnik used pen and paper to illustrate the detailed system he envisioned. Additionally, he shared that he was deeply impressed by some of Viettel's products and analyzed the strengths of each side for potential collaboration.

In addition to handheld communication devices, the combination of short-range unmanned aerial vehicle surveillance systems (VEA/6C) was another crowd-pulling product. Visitors were keen to understand the surveillance criteria, interference capabilities, GPS signal spoofing abilities, and product recovery/launch capabilities.

MSPO 2023 has opened up numerous collaboration opportunities for Viettel in the field of military equipment.
