The construction of the temple started on March 2020 and was completed six months later. However, due to the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, the inauguration and handover ceremony was postponed until now. It was built at the total investment of USD 13,000 donated by Metfone and MB.

This first construction is evaluated to bear profound political significance and demonstrates the present generation’s deep respect and gratitude to contribution and sacrifices of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers for the national independence and noble international service. From now on, the temple will be a venue for people of the two countries to pay tribute to Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who laid down their lives in the locality.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Huy Tang acknowledged and highly appreciated the initiative to build the temple from Team K72 in charge of martyrs' remains search and collection as well as the support of Metfone and MB to complete the project.

He also called on Vietnamese businesses in Cambodia to build similar projects in localities in Cambodia.

On behalf of Team K72, Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Anh thanked the Steering Committee for Search, Collection, Repatriation and Identification of Fallen Soldiers' Remains (Steering Committee 515 in short), the Military Command of Binh Phuoc province, benefactors and Kampong Thom province’s Special Mission for financing the construction and purchase of necessities.
