The competition is part of the Group’s strategy to develop talents in national strategic technology areas including AI, semiconductors, 5G/6G, and cloud computing.
Participants will develop solutions for three main challenges: (1) optimizing network operations; (2) analyzing, extracting, and organizing information from complex texts; (3) rapid and accurate package recognition and localization. These align with AI branches of machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision.
The contest provides opportunities for young talents to turn ideas into products, engage with Viettel’s AI experts, and access real-world data and operations.
Prizes include a first final prize of VND 100 million, three first group prizes of VND 55 million each, three consolation prizes of VND 10 million each, and 15 ambassador and six pioneer awards in the online round. Outstanding contestants may also be recruited to Viettel’s AI workforce.
Registration is open until October 28, 2025 at tuyendung.viettel.vn/viettelairace. Entries are accepted from September 30 to November 11, with results announced on November 14 and the names of 15 ambassadors and six pioneer awards revealed. Six top teams will advance to the second round. The final round will take place from December 1 to 3 in Hanoi with a Hackathon Festival on December 2 as a highlight and the awarding ceremony on December 3.
Additional events such as a webinar and workshops in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will provide guidance for participants. A Viettel representative affirmed that the competition continues the company’s philosophy of nurturing young tech talents and reinforcing Viettel as a leading destination for digital innovation.
