The meeting 
This was stated by Le Thanh Liem, Permanent Deputy Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee at the meeting with the Consulate General of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and British Business Group in Vietnam on December 13th.     

The city’s leader also hoped that in the coming time the two sides would discuss and find cooperation opportunities to build Ho Chi Minh City into a smart city in the 2017-2020 period, vision to 2025.

At the meeting, representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City and of British businesses operating in the city discussed issues relating to administrative procedures, human resource development, infrastructure investment, and urban planning.

Vietnam and the UK have seen strong development in their relationship since they set up their strategic partnership in 2010.The UK ranks the 12th among foreign investors in the city with 126 valid projects worth over USD 590 million. Two-way trade between Ho Chi Minh City and the UK reached USD 755 million.
