Vietnamese shooters snatch 11 golds at pre-SEA Games 31 tournament
PANO - The Vietnamese shooting team ranked first at the pre-SEA Games 31 tournament for shooting, which freshly-ended on April 16 in Hanoi.

The tournament was jointly held by the Vietnam Shooting Federation and the Hanoi National Sports Training Center from April 12 to 16.
As many as 143 shooters from Singapore, Indonesia and the host Vietnam competed in 14 shooting events and two skeet shooting events.
The Vietnamese shooting team won 11 gold, 10 silver, and 12 bronze medals, followed by Indonesia with 2 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze. The Singaporean team bagged home only one gold.
According to head coach of the Vietnamese shooting team Nguyen Thi Nhung, the pre-SEA Games 31 tournament for shooting was a good chance to check equipment and get used to organizational and refereeing work before SEA Games 31 starts. It also gave shooters a chance to get acquainted with the atmosphere and prepare psychology for the games.

Nhung added that the tournament was really a good opportunity for Vietnamese shooters to regain their best performance and strive to achieve high possible results at SEA Games 31 after a long time not competing overseas.
In preparation for SEA Games 31, the Vietnamese shooting team gathers 28 shooters, four coaches, and one expert. Competing in 20 events, the Vietnamese team targets to win 5-7 golds.
