The Vietnam U17 women’s football team clinches a 1 - 0 victory over Hong Kong (China), securing their place in the finals of the 2026 AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup.

Vietnam began the game on the front foot, maintaining an attacking rhythm from the outset. However, Hong Kong demonstrated remarkable improvement in physical strength and defensive organization, posing difficulties for the hosts in finding a breakthrough.

After the break, Vietnam continued to press forward relentlessly. Their persistence was finally rewarded in the 66th minute, when Hong Thai delivered a precise through ball to Hai Yen, who skillfully controlled it inside the box and struck a fine angled shot to put Vietnam ahead 1 - 0. In the closing minutes, the home side defended solidly, maintaining their shape and composure to preserve the victory until the final whistle.

Speaking after the match, coach Okiyama Masahiko expressed satisfaction with the team's tremendous fighting spirit, discipline, and determination. This victory is a well-deserved reward for the entire team’s effort, he stated.
