Vietnam opened the scoring at the 24th minute with a goal from Nguyen Thi Bich Just three minutes later, Hoang Thi Loan doubled the lead with a decisive strike. Throughout the opening 45 minutes, Indonesia posed little threat to goalkeeper Khong Thi Hang’s net.

In the second half, Vietnam’s dominance continued. Substitute Hai Yen scored twice in the 68th and 84th minutes while Ngan Thi Van Su added a goal in the 70th and Tran Thi Thu Thao struck in the 80th. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Dung capped the victory with a goal in the 88th minute.

After two matches in Group A, both Vietnam and Thailand have 6 points. Due to a lower goal difference, Vietnam currently sit. The match between the two teams on August 12 will decide the group winners and thus the semifinal matchups.

The Championship is taking place from August 6 to 20 in Hai Phong, bringing together eight strongest teams in the region. The tournament follows a round-robin format across two groups, with the top performers advancing to the semifinals.

Vietnam is in Group A with Thailand, Cambodia and Indonesia. Meanwhile, Group B features the Philippines, Myanmar, Australia, and Timor-Leste.
