“The outcomes of the contest have gradually confirmed the position and role of the Vietnamese revolutionary press in general and the People’s Army Newspaper in particular. In this edition, hundreds of collectives and individuals, good examples and deeds in all areas of social life have been discovered and honored,” said the general.

The GDP deputy chief stressed that many articles have reflected pioneering, enthusiastic and responsible Party cadres and members in bringing resolutions of the 13th National Party Congress and the 11th Military Party Congress into life, as well as images of troops in training, combat readiness, scientific studies, disaster relief, search and rescue, and disease prevention and control. These have helped spread noble images of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and consolidate people’s trust in the Party, the State, and the military, and tighten the national great unity bloc and the close ties between the Party and the military and people, as well as fight against “peaceful evolution” schemes of hostile forces and reactionaries, and protect the Party’s ideological foundation.

General Quyet asked the organizers to promote achievements, renovate dissemination of information to attract more authors from all walks of life to find out more about typical groups and individuals, good experience, new, creative and effective models, especially in studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality and style in all fields.

He called on amateur and professional reporters to raise their socio-political, professional responsibility, promote enthusiasm, keep a close watch on lively realities of life and continue to accompany the contest to discover and reflect role models nationwide in a timely and lively manner, especially those in remote, mountainous, border, especially-disadvantaged areas and on islands to spread simple but noble examples in society.

After two rounds of evaluation, the jury of the contest decided to award two first, three second, four third and ten consolation prizes to 19 best articles.
