The VWA Literature Awards are prestigious annual honors aimed at recognizing works of high artistic and ideological value while acknowledging the significant contributions of authors and translators to Vietnamese literature.
In 2025, nine works were honored across several categories, including prose, poetry, literary criticism, translated literature, children’s literature, and young authors.

In prose, the novel "The Promised Land" by writer Le Thanh Ky (Literature Publishing House) won the award. Poetry honors went to "Fragrance from Pain" by poet Hoang Thuy Anh (Hoang Thi Quynh Anh) and "On the Road of Hair" by poet Trang Thanh (Tran Thi Thanh), both from the Writers’ Association Publishing House.
Critic Tran Van Toan’s "Literature as a Discourse" (Hanoi National University of Education Publishing House) took the literary criticism prize. In translation, "The White Crane Spreads Its Wings" by Tawada Yoko, translated by An Nhien, and Toni Morrison’s "Song of Solomon," translated by Thien Nga, were recognized.
The children’s literature award went to the novel "Panduranga Grassland" by writer Le Duc Duong. The VWA also granted 2025 Young Author Awards to Nguyen Thi Kim Nhung for the poetry collection "Dawn Approaching" and Cao Viet Quynh for the five-volume novel "Dragon Continent."
The 2025 Impressive Female Writer Awards honored poet Pham Van Anh and writers Nie Thanh Mai and Trinh Thi Phuong Tra for their community contributions. VWA Chairman poet Nguyen Quang Thieu noted that the winners reflect diverse styles and a spirit of innovation, bringing authentic beauty to Vietnamese literature.
