PANO - The Ha Nam provincial authorities held a ceremony on February 21st to receive the certificate that recognizes Tran Thuong Temple as a special national relic site, in the presence of Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan.

Located in Nhan Dao commune, Ly Nhan district, the temple is dedicated to Grand Duke Tran Hung Dao (1228-1300), a Supreme Commander of Vietnam's military in the Tran Dynasty, who led the resistance wars against the Yuan-Mongol invaders and defeated them in the 13th century. The place was recognized as a special national relic site for its historical, cultural and spiritual value.

The same day, the 14th day of the first lunar month, a food-distributing festival was held at the temple, which stored food for Grand Duke Tran Hung Dao’s troops during the fight against Yuan-Mongol invaders. During the festival, about 150,000 food parcels with corn, soy beans and sticky rice were delivered to participants.

The events not only contribute to maintaining and promoting cultural heritages' values and educating about patriotic traditions, but also to encouraging people to strive for a successful year.
