The seminar, themed “Upholding and promoting values of world heritage in Vietnam in post-COVID-19 pandemic period and managing world cultural and natural heritage in Vietnam following the World Heritage Convention,” will be held by the Department of Cultural Heritage and relevant agencies and units.

The seminar is scheduled to take place two days in August in Hoi An city, Quang Nam province.

The event aims to evaluate the management of world heritage in Vietnam over the past time and seek new measures to protect and bring into play values of world cultural and natural heritage after pandemic time.

During the seminar, delegates will also look into challenges and issues related to the protection and promotion of values of world cultural and natural heritage in Vietnam in current period. 

The event is expected to attract the participation of 100 delegates, representing the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the National Council for Cultural Heritage, the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO, UNESCO Office in Hanoi, world heritage management centers, Quang Nam province’s authorities and organizations, the Institute of Social Sciences of the Central region, the Center for Research and Promotion of Cultural Heritages, experts, and scientists across the country. 

The seminar is scheduled to take place two days in August in Hoi An city, Quang Nam province.

The event is part of the activities to mark the 50th anniversary of the UNESCO 1972 Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage and help Vietnam to prepare itself for running for a post of the World Heritage Committee in the 2023-2027.
