In his opening speech at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh emphasized that over the past years, the MPS has paid due attention to providing books and newspapers to public security agencies and units, meeting the needs of public security officers and soldiers for updating information, researching, studying and broadening knowledge, and contributing to improving their cultural lives.
Currently, the library system of the Public Security Forces has gradually improved in terms of number of books and service quality. Meanwhile, a lot of events related to reading culture are carried out regularly and effectively across the Public Security Forces.
At the ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh and delegates cut the opening ribbon and took a tour of the Book Festival exhibition area.
After that, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to the winners of the “Ambassadors of Reading Culture” contest and the “Good People, good deeds” painting competition.
The “Ambassadors of Reading Culture 2020” contest in the Public Security Forces attracted the participation of 10 Public Security schools with a total of 14,109 entries. The Organizing Committee awarded 5 A prizes, 10 B prizes, 15 C prizes, 20 Consolation prizes to outstanding entries.
Meanwhile, the “Good People, good deeds” painting competition in the Public Security Force received 303 paintings from 67 public security agencies and units. The Organizing Committee also awarded 2 A prizes, 6 B prizes, 10 C prizes and 20 Consolation prizes to excellent individuals and groups of authors, and presented 1 A prize, 2 B prizes, 3 C prizes and 4 Consolation prizes to the public security agencies and units with the winning art works.
