The photo book gathers 400 photos taken by photographer Nguyen A at different COVID-19 flashpoints across the country, including Bach Mai Hospital, Ha Loi commune, Dong Anh-based Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi, and Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh city.
The displayed photos capture the activities of medical staff at hospitals and quarantined areas, troops and militiamen on duty in border areas to stop the virus from entering the country, civilian-military solidarity in epicenters, and flights carrying Vietnamese citizens home from COVID-19-hit countries. The photos are illustrated with inspirational stories of doctors who worked on the front line against the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the book release event, photographer Nguyen A, frontline doctors, and artists shared their memories of their fight against the pandemic.
On the occasion, the Ho Chi Minh municipal Youth Culture House showcased photos from the book to show the determination to contain the disease.
