French play to be staged in HCM City
PANO - The French Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City held a press conference on September 11 to introduce the play "Sai Gon" by Caroline Guiela Nguyen.
The play, now on its world tour, will be performed by “Les Hommes Approximatifs” art troupe on September 21 and 22 at the Ben Thanh Theater, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. This is one of the important events in celebration of 45 years of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and France. The organizing panel will present 300 free tickets to students who are now studying French.
"Sai Gon" recounts lives of French and Vietnamese people with many historical events from 1956 to 1996. These stories took place at a restaurant in Saigon, Vietnam, in 1956, and in Paris, France, in 1996.
The play was a big hit at the 71st international theatre festival in Avignon in 2017 and attracted a large number of audiences at the world's most famous theaters.
