At the meeting, the Vietnamese official expressed delight at the achievements recorded by Cambodia over the past 66 years, including its impressive economic growth.
Dung also highlighted that the Vietnam-Cambodia relationship has seen stable development while the two countries regularly maintained delegation exchanges. He said that the official visit to Vietnam by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen from October 4 to 10 bore historical significance as the two sides signed a legal document acknowledging the progress in land border demarcation and marker planting achieved so far (about 84%). The Vietnamese diplomat said that this document will serve as an important foundation to build a borderline of peace, friendship, cooperation, and development.
While receiving the Vietnamese delegation, Cambodian Ambassador to Vietnam Chay Navuth announced that the Cambodian National Assembly ratified the document. The Cambodian diplomat affirmed that he will try his best to promote the comprehensive and practical development of Vietnam-Cambodia relationship, and Cambodia will cooperate with the Vietnamese side to organize diplomatic activities in 2020.
On the occasion, the Cambodian Ambassador said that Cambodia will always support Vietnam to successfully fulfill its role as ASEAN Chair in 2020 and a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council in the 2020-2021 term.
