This statement was stressed at a working session between the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) and the Standing Committee of the VFF Central Committee in Hanoi on October 12 to review their coordination activities and to map out their joint plans for the coming period.

The event was co-chaired by Senior Lieutenant General Luong Cuong, member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Member of the Central Military Commission and Director of the VPA’s General Department of Politics and Mr. Tran Thanh Man, Member of the Party Central Committee and President of the VFF Central Committee.

The two leaders agreed that the General Department of Politics and the VFF have actively worked together to direct and instruct the implementation of emulation campaigns by the Party, State, VFF, Army and localities. Additionally, the General Department of Politics made recommendations to the Central Military Commission so that it could issue resolutions and design projects on public relations, religious affairs, and democratic regulations at the grassroots level. The General Department of Politics also signed agreements with the Central Commission for Mass Mobilization and other socio-political organizations to raise troops’ and public awareness of the Party’s guidelines and the State’s laws in order to uphold the great solidarity bloc of the nation.

Particularly, the whole army units actively coordinated with local authorities to thoroughly grasp local situations where they are stationed and effectively handle any circumstances, making contributions to fully ensuring political security and public orders.

In the time to come, organs at all levels of the VFF and army units will further cooperate to implement completely all emulation campaigns, effectively fight “peaceful evolution” schemes of hostile forces, develop models or movements in accordance with the implementation of military and defense tasks, build the army and strengthen the whole people’s defense disposition, better care for policy beneficiaries and families of troops and mobilize local people to join hands to firmly protect social order and the national territorial integrity.
