PANO - An exhibition of valuable documents confirming the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos belonging to Vietnam was opened on August 3rd at the Binh Dinh provincial Labor Culture House, Quy Nhon city.

Themed “Vietnam’s Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos - Historical and Legal Evidence”, the five-day exhibition displays a number of documents, photos, studies  and nearly 100 maps to confirm the two archipelagos are part of Vietnam. All of the exhibits have been collected at home and abroad over the past time.

Some stamp collections featuring Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos are also on display.

The exhibition, jointly organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Binh Dinh provincial People’s Committee, aims to affirm Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos and Vietnam’s just cause. It also targets to raise public awareness of the important role of seas and islands and people’s responsibility for national sea and island protection, and to call on people from all walks of life to exploit and use effectively and sustainably maritime resources. The exhibition is expected to educate locals on Vietnam’s and international laws on seas, islands and oceans.

After this 65th exhibition, the Ministry of Information and Communications will present all exhibits to Binh Dinh province.

Such an exhibition has been organized in 45 cities, provinces, ten islands and island districts, and ten military units nationwide.
