In 2014, the Trang An Landscape Complex became the first and only mixed heritage site in Southeast Asia to be listed as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO. From over 2.2 million visitors in 2014, Trang An welcomed more than 4.6 million visitors in 2023, generating a revenue of VND 4.5 trillion.

Speaking at the ceremony, Simona Mirela Miculescu, President of the 42nd General Conference of UNESCO, emphasized, “Trang An has become a model of harmonious combination between economic development and heritage tourism. The Vietnamese people not only benefit from Trang An but are also the main characters in the conservation and promotion of the heritage.”
