10th anniversary of Trang An's world heritage site recognition
PANO - The People's Committee of Ninh Binh province organized a ceremony on April 26 at Bai Dinh Pagoda in Gia Sinh commune, Gia Vien district, to mark the 10th anniversary of the Trang An Landscape Complex being recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site.
Attending the program were Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, former State President Nguyen Minh Triet, former State President Truong Tan Sang, former Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Van An, and former Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Sinh Hung.

In 2014, the Trang An Landscape Complex became the first and only mixed heritage site in Southeast Asia to be listed as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO. From over 2.2 million visitors in 2014, Trang An welcomed more than 4.6 million visitors in 2023, generating a revenue of VND 4.5 trillion.

Speaking at the ceremony, Simona Mirela Miculescu, President of the 42nd General Conference of UNESCO, emphasized, “Trang An has become a model of harmonious combination between economic development and heritage tourism. The Vietnamese people not only benefit from Trang An but are also the main characters in the conservation and promotion of the heritage.”
