The Vietnam’s tourism sector is planning to hold a series of events to promote Vietnamese tourism and culture in Ukraine in November right after the visit by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung to the country earlier this month.

According to the Vietnam General Department of Tourism, activities and events of the Vietnam Tourism and Culture Day will include road-shows, meetings between Vietnamese and Ukrainian travel agents and hotel managers, which will take place on November 14th in Ukraine.

Officials said that the programme is an advanced step to welcome an expected large number of Ukrainian visitors to Vietnam when a direct air route between the two countries will be opened in the forthcoming time.

During the recent visit of the Vietnamese Prime Minister to Ukraine, the Vietnamese flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines, and the Ukrainian airlines of Aeroxvit signed a code-share agreement.

Vietnam’s tourism sector has recently become more active in promoting Vietnam’s tourism and culture overseas. It has held tourism promotion programmes in South Korea, Russia, Belgium and Laos.

Later this year, such programme will be held in Norway, Denmark and Switzerland, according to a high-ranking tourism manager.
