Vietnamese private airline VietJetAir will inaugurate its Ho Chi Minh City-Bangkok air route on Feb.10, or the first day of the Lunar New Year.

It is 10th air route and first international one opened the budget carrier.

The airline said on Feb. 7 that flights depart from Ho Chi Minh City at 11.45 am, and arrive in Bangkok at 1.15 pm. They all take off Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport at 2.30 pm and land in Ho Chi Minh City at 4 pm.

At first, the carrier operates seven flights per week on Airbus A320s.

The first international flight is fully booked, implying an eventful year of the airline, said Desmond Lin, VietJetAir Business Development Manager, adding that he unveiled its plan to expand both domestic and international air routes in 2013.

VietJetAir currently operates over 300 domestic flights with a fleet of six new Airbus A320s.
