Kim Jin Sun, governor of Kangwon province (the Republic of Korea) and representatives of 6 travel enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City on February 15 signed a memorandum of understanding on tourism cooperation and development.
The Vietnamese signatories are Saigontourist, TST Travel, Viettours, Benthanh Tourist, Vietravel and Transviet
Under the agreement, Gangwon province will help its Vietnamese partners to bring tourists from Vietnam to this Korean province. Gangwon is famous for its tourist sites and festivals.
Last year, 56,000 Vietnamese tourists traveled to the Republic of Korea. The number is expected to rise sharply with the new cooperation programme.
