Despite coming from a province facing numerous challenges, Ha Giang’s Youth Union members fearlessly venture into tough, remote areas to aid local communities.
In early March, over 40 Youth Union members from Meo Vac district’s communes, equipped with hoes, shovels, and motorbikes, transported bricks, stones, and cement to help build a house for Gia Khua Gia’s family in Ban Chuoi village, Xin Cai commune. They worked tirelessly to complete their task.

Gia Khua Gia joyfully held, “We have longed for a new house to withstand rain and wind, but poverty held us back. Today we are overjoyed to receive the state funding and the Youth Union’s support.”
As a poor household in the village, Gia Khua Gia’s family was in dire circumstances, with seven members cramped in a dilapidated home, unable to afford repairs or a new house.
Gia Khua Gia’s family received a VND 60 million grant from Ha Giang province’s initiative to replace temporary homes, along with two tons of cement from the provincial Youth Union. At the same time, members of Youth Union chapters from Meo Vac district and the province joined other forces to assist with transporting materials, clearing the ground, and conducting the house’s construction.
Comrade Thao Thi Thu Nga, Secretary of the Meo Vac district's Youth Union, said that apart from aiding home construction, this 2025 Youth Month, they are rolling out impactful initiatives, such as building new-style rural areas, supporting social welfare activities, patrolling the border with border guards, holding borderland classes, promoting legal awareness, tackling outdated customs, preventing early marriage, and preserving ethnic groups’ traditions.
Comrade Nguyen Hai Duong, Secretary of the Ha Giang provincial Youth Union Organization, said the 2025 Youth Month, themed “Ha Giang youths act for the community - confidently enter the new era,” offers young people a chance to show their commitment to the society. Initiatives include protecting the environment, advancing digital transformation, volunteering to help the poor, eliminating ramshackle homes, and spreading humanitarian values across the province.

With fervent determination, the excitement of the Youth Month 2025 is igniting every member of Youth Union chapters across Ha Giang, laying a strong foundation for the Youth Union’s task performance and the youth movement throughout the year.
At a free medical check-up and medicine distribution event in Sung Tra commune, Meo Vac district, Ha Giang municipal Youth Union Secretary Bui Van Bien shared that this initiative, jointly organized with the Meo Vac district's Youth Union Organization and Duc Minh Hospital, aimed to improve healthcare for struggling highland residents. Accordingly, under the “Border Spring” program in Sung Tra commune, doctors provided free consultations, check-ups, and medicines to over 300 locals for common ailments like hypertension, ENT issues, internal conditions, and chest X-rays.
In Dong Van district, kicking off the Youth Month 2025 and supporting the government’s campaign to eliminate dilapidated houses, hundreds of youths helped transport construction materials for struggling households, organized social welfare activities, and joined border patrols with local border posts.
In March, the green volunteer shirts brighten every corner of Ha Giang, delivering meaningful, practical deeds for the community and rural development. This spirit carries forward the Youth Union’s proud legacy, leaving a mark with impactful projects that bring joy to locals.
