Practical activities to support flood victims
PANO – Local authorities and organizations across the country have actively joined hands to support victims affected by recent floods in Central Vietnam to help them stabilize their life.
The Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee presents money to assist locals in Dak Lak province.
* A mission of the Thai Nguyen provincial People’s Committee, led by its Vice-Chairman Trinh Viet Hung on November 13 visited and presented gifts worth VND 1 billion to help locals in Khanh Hoa province overcome storm Damrey effects.
On the same day, the Ministry of Education and Training, in cooperation with the National Education Union of Vietnam, offered VND 500 million to the Khanh Hoa provincial Department of Education and Training to support local flood victims.
Recent torrential rains and floods caused serious damages in Khanh Hoa province with heavy losses in both human lives and property.
* On November 13, the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee presented VND 1 billion to assist locals in Dak Lak province to deal with flood consequences. The provincial People’s Committee reported that storm Damrey that hit Vietnam on November 4 left one dead and ten others injured and damaged many houses, while nearly 26,500ha of rice and other crops were destroyed. Total damage in the region has been estimated to be of about VND 356 billion.
* The Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee also visited and handed over 150 gifts, worth VND 1 million each, to help locals overcome storm Damrey's effects in Ea Trang commune, M’Drak district, and quickly stabilize their life.
