Over 2,000 people join a clean-up campaign
PANO - A clean-up campaign was carried out on October 12 and 13 by a delegation from the European Union Delegation to Vietnam, the Keep Hanoi Clean environmental organization, along with people from Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem and Long Bien districts of Hanoi.
Accordingly, more than 2,000 volunteers from diplomatic corps, international organizations, and local residents joined hands in collecting waste and cleaning up Long Bien Bridge, Long Bien Market and other areas along the Red River.
They provided local people with cleaning supplies and encouraged locals not to discharge waste into the Red River. They also cycled and installed panels to raise awareness of environmental protection and the negative impacts of climate change.
The activity was in the framework of the European Climate Diplomatic Week 2019.
