Outstanding ethnic minority students to be awarded
PANO - The Committee on Ethnic Affairs held a press briefing on November 5 to introduce an awarding ceremony for outstanding ethnic minority students in 2019.
This event, the seventh of its kind, is held by the committee, in association with the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
Unlike other previous ones, this year’s program will honor 120 individuals, including not only students with high academic records but also youths with sound achievements in different sectors.
The honorees are from 27 ethnic minority groups in 33 provinces and cities across the country.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place at 8pm on November 12 at Au Co Art Center in Hanoi and is broadcast live on VTV2 channel of the Vietnam Television.
In addition, the honorees will participate in several meaningful activities, such as reporting their accomplishments to Uncle Ho at President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and touring the Literature Temple.
