Outstanding ethnic minority students honored
PANO - The Committee on Ethnic Affairs, in association with the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union held a ceremony to honor outstanding ethnic minority students in 2018 on November 25.
The event saw the participation of Truong Hoa Binh, Politburo member and Standing Deputy Prime Minister (PM); Do Van Chien, Minister-Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Affairs; Phung Xuan Nha, Minister of Education and Training; Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong, Deputy Defense Minister; Thao Xuan Sung, President of the Vietnam Farmers' Association; Phan Thanh Binh, Chairman of the National Assembly Committee for Culture, Education, Youth and Children; and Nguyen The Ky, General Director of the Voice of Vietnam.

Speaking at the ceremony, Standing Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh extended best wishes to teachers and students, and stressed that the Party and the State always pay much attention to education, training, and give the sector a top priority, and consider it the key role in raising intellectual level of the people, developing human resources, as well as fostering talents for the country, especially those in mountainous areas.
The organizing panel awarded the Certificate of Merit of the Committee on Ethnic Affairs and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to outstanding ethnic minority students.
