This season’s drive took place from July 10 at Samsung Vietnam’s branches nationwide with a focus on its two factories, Samsung Electronics Vietnam in Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen provinces.

It was part of the annual blood donation campaign hosted by Samsung Vietnam in association with the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, and other relevant organs.

This year, the drive received more than 19,000 blood units, the highest number since the launch of the “Sharing the same blood” program.

Reportedly, from 2010, Samsung Vietnam’s staff has donated nearly 83,000 blood units.

Addressing the event, General Director of the Samsung Vietnam Complex Choi Joo Ho held that the program’s outcome has contributed to not only improving treatment of patients at hospitals but also conveying a message of sympathy, love and devotion to youths in the community.

He added that Samsung Vietnam would continue such meaningful programs and organize more gratitude activities in the host country.

Also at the event, Samsung Vietnam granted over VND 1 billion in cash to support the operation of the Vietnam Red Cross Society’s chapters in Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen provinces, and the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion.

Apart from annually hosting the “Sharing the same blood” program since 2010, Samsung Vietnam has also responded to the “Red Sunday” blood donation movement held by the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion and the Tien Phong (Vanguard) Newspaper.
