PANO – The Vietnam Aviation Academy held a ceremony to open the Cam Ranh Pilot Training Center in Cam Ranh City of Khanh Hoa Province on September 15th.

Present at the opening ceremony were representatives of the Vietnam Aviation Department, the French Embassy in Vietnam, the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, the Bay Viet Flight Training Joint-Stock Company, the French Aviation Academy ESMA, and army units.

Deputy Director of the Vietnam Aviation Department Luu Thanh Binh handed over the license to the Cam Ranh Pilot Training Center.

Addressing the ceremony the General Director of the Bay Viet Company, Mr. Nguyen Nam Lien stressed that the event is an important landmark in implementing the France-financed Vietnam aviation development project which was inked in 1995, with an effective technical support from the ESMA.

Earlier, the Aviation Academy and the Bay Viet Company gave commercial pilot licenses and flight instructor licenses to 23 graduates including one woman – Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc on September 9th. It was the second pilot course in Vietnam launched by the Bay Viet Company but the first time that Vietnamese pilots practiced flights in the country. Also the ceremony, the Aviation Academy, the ESMA and the Bay Viet Company signed an agreement to train local pilots in the upcoming time.
