The visit was part of the activities to mark the 78th anniversary of the Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 – 2025). During the event, he extended best wishes and deep gratitude to wounded soldiers and martyrs' families for their immense sacrifices and contributions to the national liberation and reunification.

On the same day, Nguyen Thi Thanh, Vice President of the National Assembly, visited and presented gifts to policy beneficiary families in Tay Ninh province. At Tan Dong, Cau Khoi, Hung Thuan, Tuyen Binh, Khanh Hung, and Vinh Hung communes, the delegation delivered 1,000 gift packages, worth VND 1 million each, to wounded and sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs, and revolutionary contributors.

Also on July 23, at the Road 9 National War Cemetery, the authorities of Quang Tri province held a memorial and reburial ceremony for 12 sets of remains of fallen soldiers. From June 15 to July 1, 2025, the search and repatriation team of Division 968 under Military Region 4 organized the search and recovery of 12 sets of martyrs' remains in Ban Chua hamlet, Hieu Giang commune, Quang Tri province. The remains were found at a depth of 1 – 1.2m, spaced 2.5 – 3m apart, wrapped in military ponchos, along with personal belongings such as rubber sandals, belts, uniform buttons, military medicine bags, wallets, and signal wires. Based on verification, the burial site is believed to belong to soldiers from Divisions 304 and 324.

On the same day, a delegation from the Department of Vehicles and Transportation under the General Department of Logistics and Technical Services offered incense and flowers at the Truong Son and Road 9 National War Cemeteries in Quang Tri province. The delegation also visited and presented gifts to policy beneficiary families in Hieu Giang commune.

Also on July 23, Military Hospital 354 under the General Department of Logistics and Technical Services organized a tribute ceremony at the Hanoi City War Cemetery in honor of heroic Vietnamese mothers and fallen soldiers. Recently, the hospital co-hosted the charity program themed “Bringing music to the hospital,” raising VND 45 million to support 10 patients who are wounded or sick soldiers and national contributors currently under treatment at the hospital.

On the same day, Tien Hai Border Post under the An Giang provincial Border Guard Command, in coordination with the local chapter of the Veterans’ Association and Youth Union of Tien Hai island commune, An Giang province, organized meaningful activities to mark the 78th anniversary of Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs' Day.

Activities included a flower-offering ceremony at the "Uncle Ho with border guard soldiers" monument; a meeting and gift presentation for officers and soldiers who are descendants of martyrs, wounded soldiers, or revolutionary contributors; dissemination of the day’s historical significance; and storytelling sessions by war veterans. On this occasion, the border post gave gifts to five families of disadvantaged officers and soldiers and one wounded soldier in Tien Hai island commune.

Also on July 23, Squadron 11 under Coast Guard Region 1 held a gathering with relatives of wounded and fallen soldiers serving at the unit. The squadron's representatives visited and presented gifts to the family of martyr Doan Duc Thang, an officer who sacrificed his life while on duty. The unit earlier coordinated with local authorities to visit and present gifts to wounded and sick soldiers and policy beneficiary families in Dong Hai ward, Hai Phong city.
